Chapter 2
We all split up after the little circle thing. I went my own way, but not really anywhere. I'm too shy of a guy, not like Koki who's outgoing. I spent most of my time leaning against this railing trying to act cool. The girls passing by me didn't even give me a second glance. When I finally got tired of being unnoticed, I decided to be brave and talk to some of the girls. These two girls in their school uniform passed by me and I walked up to them. "Etto... [Um...]" I said nervously.
The girls giggled at me and walked away. "What a loser," I heard one of them say.
I turned around embarrassed and whispered, "Shikisho [Dammit]!" These other girls walked by me so I did the same. "Ano [Um...]...if you'd like..." I tried to tell them, but they walked away before I could finish my sentence. Dammit. I'm so hopeless.
I turned around to lean on the same railing as before, but there was a fat girl blocking my previous spot. Maji? I was going to ask her to stand somewhere else, but she approached me instead. "Nee [Hey], do you have a cell phone with you?" she asked loudly and rudely.
"Eh?" I asked utterly confused.
"Cell phone. Do you have one on you?" she asked again, but slower.
When I finally realized that the girl was asking me, I took me phone out. "H-hai [Y-yeah]," I answered and handed it over to her.
"Arigatou [Thanks]~ My phone just died." She grabbed the phone from my hand and started to dial. She placed the phone next to her ear and said, "Moshi moshi? Mokoto-chan? Juria desu. Gomen ne [Hello? Mokoto? It's Juria. I'm sorry]?" She talked like a real teenage girl. It's no wonder why people make fun of them. "My phone just died. Doko ni iru [Where are you]?" There was a pause. "Hontou [Really]? That's so close. Hayaku [Hurry]. The boys will run away if we're late." Even if you appear early they'd run.
The girl suddenly looked in front of her and there was another girl wearing the same school uniform. She was nothing like Miss Fatty. She had long black hair and a petite body. The brown and baige uniform fit her well, it made her look even better! She was carrying a big bag on her shoulder as she ran towards her friend and I. My heart suddenly began to beat faster and faster as she neared. "Juria!" she called out.
"Eh? Ore [Me]?" I asked myself like an idiot.
"Mokoto, what took you so long?" the other girl asked. Of course she was talking to her.
"Gomen, ne [I'm sorry]? The train ride was longer than expected." The girl stopped in front of her friend and stood only centimeters from me. She glanced at me for a quick second, but looked back at her friend. For that quick second I died. "Ikou [Let's go]?" she told her friend.
"Hai [Yeah]." She gave me my cell phone back with the chain hanging out. It was a little monkey that my dad gives out to his listeners.
"A-arigatou [Th-thanks]," I thanked nervously, looking at the other girl.
As Mokoto's friend left her side, Mokoto stayed and looked at me. She stared at my phone chain for a while, while I thought she was looking at me. "Mokoto! Ikou [Let's go]," Juria called from far away.
Before answering her, she looked at me for a final time and then left. "Ah-" I said trying to call her out, but my voice stopped half-way. I turned around disappointed at myself and grabbed onto the railing. "Kirei~ Chou kirei~ [Beautiful. Really beautiful]," I said to myself. Suddenly, my phone began to rang. I took it out of my pocket and looked at the notice about 2 hours passing already. "Yabai [Oh no]," I mummbled and ran to the meeting place.
When I arrived, Jin was already there. "Yo!" he called out as he saw me approach. I waved at him without saying a word and just stood next to him leaning on the railing. "Did you get anyone?" he asked.
I shook my head sadly. "And you?" I asked.
He sighed in disappointment. "No. And I didn't even faint."
I patted his back. "It's okay buddy. It's okay," I said trying to make him feel better. "Anyways, where are the others?" Jin shrugged his shoulders and we continued to wait for the others.
Moments later Tat-chan, Junno, and Koki appeared. The only one missing was Yuichi. Where was that perv at now? "Do you guys have any ideas?" Tat-chan asked.
We all shook our heads. "100 yen that idiot is peaking at some girl taking a shower," Koki betted as he took a 100 yen coin out of his pocket.
We all looked at each other with mischievious faces and grins. I looked at Koki. "I say he is."
"I say no," Tat-chan betted.
"Yes," Jin said and placed his money in.
"No," Junno said.
We searched around the whole city before we found the little idiot. It took us almost half an hour just to find him. He was in a tree...peaking at a girl. I looked at all my friends, then pointed at the tree he was stationed at. I counted down with my fingers, 3 down. "3..." I whispered, "2...1!" We all kicked the tree at the same time and it shook. Yuichi fell off and landed on his ass.
"Hahaha!!" we all laughed hysterically and pointed at him.
He rubbed his butt and stood up. "OI! Suge itai [Hey! That really hurt]!" he shouted at us.
"Serves you right!" Ueda shouted. "We were supposed to come here for potential girlfriends, not potential criminal records!" Even though Ueda was trying his hardest to be serious, we all ended up laughing.
"Baka mitai [You look like an idiot]," Koki told him as he held onto his stomach.
Yuichi looked at all of us with embarrassed and angry looks. But it didn't last long. He couldn't help but join us as we all laughed at him. "Hahaha~" he joined in.
"Yuichi," I called him as we walked our way across the bridge.
"Yeah?" he answered.
"Who were you peaking at anyways?"
"This hot chick. She had double D's and a slim body," he answered as he traced an hourglass in mid-air.
"Uso [You're lying]!" Koki shouted appalled.
"Uso ja nai yo. Hontou da [No lie. It's true]," Yuichi assured him. He looked at me and asked, "what were you doing?"
I didn't notice he was talking to me until Ueda nudged me on the shoudler. "Eh?" I said coming back from reality.
"What. Did. You. Do?" Yuichi repeated.
"Ore [Me]?" I asked. He nodded. I thought about telling them about Mokoto, the girl I met earlier. But I figured I shouldn't. "Betsuni [Nothing much]," I answered. Which isn't really a lie. I really didn't do much.
"What about you Jin?" Koki asked.
"I went to the library and looked for a girlfriend there," Jin answered. "There's no way I'm going out with a dumb chick." He lifted his glasses as he grinned.
"Typical Jin," Koki commented. "Ueda wa [What about Ueda]?"
"Ore?" Tat-chan tilted his head and thought about it. "I punched a hole through a wall. I spelt "strength" in kanji."
"Eh? That was you?" Junno asked surprised.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"While I was selling my famous cakes," he took a slice of cake out of his bag and showed us, then put it back in, "I overheard these group of girls saying that there was a psyco punching holes into the wall."
"Ps-psyco?" Tat-chan asked almost crying.
"It's okay Tat-chan," I told him.
"They must've been scared of you!" Koki shouted laughing.
"Urese [Shut up]! I shouldn't be talking, Yakuza-san [Mr. Yakuza (Gangster)]," Tat-chan shouted back.
"What was that?" Koki ran after Tat-chan and they ended up chasing each other. They ran around the bridge like little kids playing tag. "Come back here, psyco!" he shouted.
Tat-chan turned around and started to run away backwards. "I'd rather be a psyco than a future convict!"
"EH?!" Koki ran even faster, forcing Tat-chan to turn back and run the normal way.
