Living with KAT-TUN. Ch. 6
Chapter 6
-The next morning-
I couldn't sleep at all last night. I was too anxious and confused as to why my heart started to beat faster after talking to Kame. But I think I came up with the answer: it had to be because he is famous...right? I mean, any person's heart would beat faster when they meet a famous person. But there was only one flaw in my hypothesis: my heart wasn't beating faster before. For sure I was nervous, but my heart wasn't beating fast.
It took me almost forever to sleep. When I finally decided to listen to my music until my iTouch died, it was already 5 in the morning. "Oi! Wake up. It's morning," someone shouted into my room from the door.
"Huh?" I mummbled to myself.
The person loudly knocked on my door and repeated, "O-I! Asa da [He-y! It's morning]!"
I sluggishly sat up straight, still covered with the blankets. I rubbed my eyes gently, and then opened them to discover it was Jin. "Ah, Jin da [It's Jin]," I said confused.
"Hah?!" he said shocked. "Jin? Akanishi-san wa doushita no? [Jin? What happened to Akanishi-san?]"
A/N: When you call someone without a honorific (-san, -kun, -chan etc.) it shows a close relationship. If you aren't close, it's considered rude and insulting.
"Huh?" I said half asleep.
"Ano ne- [You see]" he started, but didn't finish. He looked to his left with a disgusted face and suddenly walked away.
"Eh? What happened?" I asked myself.
Suddenly, Kame walked in front of my door. "Erika-chan," he called.
"Ah, Kamenashi-san da [It's Kamenashi]," I said shocked.
"Asa da. Oikiro [It's morning. Wake up]," he said in a gentle tone. He walked into my room and sat on a chair that was placed next to me.
"H-hai [R-right]," I answered still confused.
"Doushita no [What's wrong]?" he asked concerned. He moved my bangs away from my forehead and suddenly felt it. Then with the same hand, he felt his own forehead. "Daijoubu [Are you alrgiht]?"
"Daijoubu desu [I'm alright]," I answered. I felt around my neck and realized I didn't have my translators on. Then I touched my ears and realized I didn't have those on either. Crap. How do you say, "can you get me my neckalace and earrings from the drawer" in Japanese? I looked at Kame with a worried face.
"Doushita no [What's wrong]?" he repeated. I pointed at the drawer next to him. "Kore [This]?" he asked pointing at the same drawer. I nodded and he pulled the drawer out. "Kore [This]?" He pointed at both the neckalace and earrings and I nodded. "Hai," he said as he gave them to me.
"Arigatou [Thanks]," I thanked. I turned the earrings on first by saying, "Koi [Love]." Then I put them on and activated the neckalace by saying, "Kirei [Beautiful]." I tried to put the neckalace on, but I kept missing the hole. "Yabe [Oh no]," I mummbled to myself.
Kame suddenly stuck his hand out and said, "I'll put it on for you."
I was a little stunned, so it took me a while before responding. "H-hai. Arigatou [S-sure. Thanks]."
I turned around on the bed and he put the neckalace around my neck. He attached the thing and tapped my shoulder as a signal to tell me he was done. I turned around to face him and he said, "Kirei, ne [Beautiful, isn't it]?"
"Eh?" I said completely shocked. Was he talking about me?
"The pendent. Kirei da ne [It's beautiful, isn't it]?" he elaborated.
"Ah. Hai [Yeah]," I said a little relieved and a bit disappointed. Of course he was talking about the pendent.
"Ikou [Let's go]," he said as he stood up.
"Hai. I just need to get ready," I told him not moving out of the bed. I was in my pajamas, so I didn't look really nice.
"Wakata [I understand]." He walked to the door and before leaving he turned back to face me. "Matteru yo [I'll be waiting]."
He left right after that, but I wasn't really sure of what he meant by that. " 'Matteru yo' te. Doyu koto [I'll be waiting, he said. What's that mean]?"
Nevertheless, I got ready and dressed in my casual clothes. A pair of jeans and a regualr shirt. Nothing special. I walked down the stairs to realize that everyone was there except for me. I was the last one to wake up. I'm such a loser. "Erika-chan, ohayo gozaimasu [Erika, good morning]," Koki greeted from the kitchen.
"Ohayo gozaimasu," I replied and sat down on an empty chair next to Kame and Ueda. "Ohayo [Morning]," I said to Ueda.
"Ohayo," he greeted.
"Erika-chan," Junno called out.
"Hai?" I answered.
"How do you like your eggs?"
"My eggs? Etto...sunny side up," I told him.
"Wakata [I understand]."
"Arigatou [Thanks]," I said.
"Do itashi mashite [You're welcome]."
"Nee, nee," Koki said to me from across the table.
"Hai?"
"What do you want to do today? Today's our day off," he told me all excited.
"Day off?" I asked surprised and he nodded. "Jaa...what about the mall? We didn't get to go the last time," I suggested.
"Ii ne [That's good]," Koki commented. "Yaritai [I want to do it]."
"I'm in," Ueda jumped in.
"I agree," Maru said raising his hand.
"Count me in," Junno said as he came and placed my egg on my plate.
"I'll go," Kame agreed.
I counted the answers and realized we were missing one: Jin. "Ji-" I stopped before saying anything. "Akanishi-san wa [What about Akanishi]?"
He looked at me with cold eyes. "Whatever," he replied coldly.
Yapari [I thought so]. He still doesn;t forgive me for that recent inceident. "Shall we go to Shibuya again?" Koki asked.
"Hai!" everyone except me, Jin, and Kame shouted.
Everyone got ready with their hats and sunglasses, still making me feel like an outcast. "Hai [Here]," Kame said as he handed me a hat. "Wear this."
"H-hai. Arigatou [S-sure. Thanks]," I said and took the hat from his hand and wore it. The hat was pink and black, a bit punkish.
"Jaa...ikimashou [So...shall we get going]?" Maru asked as he opened the door.
When we arrived, I was so ready to barge into the mall made just for celebrities. I was imagining it as a flashy rich place where everything it over 100,000 yen [About $1,000]. All the celebrities are dressed in awesome cool looking stuff. They're walking around without a care in the world. This is going to be awesome!
But before I could walk in, Junno called me out. "Erika-chan."
I turned around to face him and the rest of the group. "Hai?"
"Where are you going? You need a pass," he reminded me with his ID hanging out of his shirt. All the members did the same.
"Hai..." I said disappointed. There goes my enthusiasum.
"Hai." Junno gave me a pass with no face, name, age, gender basically a blank ID. "This is your pass."
"Arigatou," I said not happy at all. The blank ID made me feel as if I was no one and nothing.
"We'll have to split into groups. We're too big to be hanging around all together," Ueda suggested.
"I agree. Let's settle it with janken [rock, paper, sisccors]," Maru told everyone as he stuck is hand out in a fist.
"Ready?" Koki asked as everyone put there hands in. "Rock, papers, sisccors, shoot!"
We all made our little signs. I chose rock. I looked around the group to see who else chose rock. Not Junno. Not Koki. Not Ueda. Not Maru. Not Kame. That left...Jin. I looked at his hand and realized it was rock. Maji [Are you serious]?
"Uso [You're lying]," he blurted out when he saw we matched. "Maji [Are you serious]?"
"Looks like you two match," Junno said laughing.
"Urese [Shut up]," Jin told him.
"Tonikaku [Anyways]," Koki broke in, "ikimashou [shall we get going]?"
Everyone split up. The groups were Junno and Ueda. Koki, Maru, and Kame. And then Jin and I. So of all the people I had to match with, it had to be with the one person who hates me? Thanks so much fate. "It fits you," Jin told me suddenly as we were walking to the mall.
"Huh?" I asked confused.
"The ID. It's perfect," he explained.
I stopped walking, trying to figure out what he meant. I took the blank ID into my hands and looked at it for a while. "Ah!" I blurted out, finally realizing what he meant. He thinks I'm a nobody? Saite [He's the worst].
Aitsu wa kirai. Kirai. Kirai. Kirai. Kirai. Daikirai! [I hate that guy. Hate. Hate. Hate. Hate. Really hate!]
