Living with KAT-TUN. Ch. 10
Chapter 10
"Chotto! Chotto matte kudasai [Hold on! Please wait]!" I shouted at the little brat who was chasing me. "Chotto!" He chased me all around the dojo and then more. I was jumping over tables and trying to shake the little man, but he was smarter than I thought.
"Hahaha!!!" I heard the three boys laughing on the sidelines.
"Baka mitai [You look stupid]!" Jin rudely commented as he held his stomach in pain from laughing so much.
"Uresai [You're annoying]!" I yelled back. "Chotto!" I said to the kid. I stopped running, and the kid did the same. "Why the hell are you chasing me again?"
"Sensei told me to. Plus, Taguchi-san said it'd be funny. And I'm having fun," he replied like a devil.
"Hah?" I asked confused. "How old are you anyways?!"
"Juuyon sai desu [I'm 14 years old]."
"Ju-juuyon sai?" I scratched my head in embarrassment. "Maji kayo [Are you serious]?"
"Oi, Shota-kun!" Jin called.
"Hai?" Shota answered.
"Ike [Go]!" he commanded.
"Hai [Yes]!"
"Eh?" I said baffled.
"Ahhh!!" the brat screamed as he ran towards me again.
"Mata [Again]!?" I jumped over a table and continued to run away from Shota.
"Hahaha!!" Jin and Taguchi laughed with all their might. I could see Kame trying to hold his laughter.
"Oi! Omaetachi [Hey! You guys]!" I shouted pissed off.
"Hai, hime [Yes, princess]?" Jin asked mockingly.
"Tell this brat to stop! Plus, don't we have to leave?" I was cornered at a table, and tried to shake the brat. But he was smart enough to jump over the table and reach me.
"No~" Taguchi answered.
I tried running away from Shota, but he was too fast and I was too tired. I tried to run around the table, but then I tripped over the corner, hurting my shin. "Ite [Ow]!" I shouted in pain as I held onto my leg. "Itai [That hurt]!" I wasn't kidding either. Shota didn't do anything, the corner of the table just hurt really bad.
"Erika-chan!" Kame called as he ran to my side. "Daijoubu [Are you alright]?"
"H-hai [Y-yeah]." I looked at Shota with dead mad eyes. "Omae [You]!"
"Ore [Me]?" he said pointing to himself. "I didn't do anything! You're just a dumb obaa-chan [old lady]!"
"O-obaa-chan?!" I jumped onto my feet, but then realized there was too much pain. "Ite." I kneeled down to rest, while Shota mocked me and made funny faces. That brat!
"Erika-chan, daijoubu?" Taguchi asked when him and Jin reached my side.
"Hai [Yeah]," I answered embarrassed.
"Baka [Idiot]~" Jin told me like a little kid.
"Urese [Shut up]," I hissed back.
"Ah ah. And everyone thought that Shota was going to be the one to make you say, "Ite". Who would've thought that you were dumb enough to hurt yourself?" Jin said mockingly.
"Anou sa [You see]," I started, but was interupted by Taguchi's phone ringing.
"Moshi moshi [Hello]?" he answered. Then there was a long pause. "Wakarimashita [I undersand]. We'll be there soon. Hai. Jaa ne [Later]." He closed his phone and then looked at us.
"Doushita [What's wrong]?" Kame asked.
"Great timing. The shooting is about to start," Taguchi answered. "Erika-chan, you should probably change."
"Hai."
We went back home so I could change and then we left for the studio. The drive wasn't so long, and it wasn't awkward anymore. We all rode the same van, so Taguchi was there to make things not so awkward. "We're here," the driver announced.
"Arigatou [Thanks]," Kame thanked and the door opened.
"Yookoso, minna-san [Welcome, everyone]," Yuki-san greeted from outside.
"Domo [Thanks]," Taguchi thanked as he jumped out of the van.
"Arigatou," Kame thanked and jumped out as well.
Jin didn't say anything, he just jumped out. He did bow a small bow, but said nothing.
"Arigatou gozaimasu [Thank you]," I thanked more formally and jumped out of the van.
"Yo!" We were greeted by everyone else from KAT-TUN.
"Yo!" Taguchi greeted and met up with them in the dressing room.
"Do I have a different dressing room?" I asked Kame.
"Tabun [Probably]," he answered unsure.
We walked together into the building and then when I saw the sign for KAT-TUN's dressing room, my name wasn't there, so I assumed I had a different dressing room. I was right. My dressing room was right next to their's. "Jaa [Later]," I said to Kame as I made my way for my room and he did for his.
"Jaa [Later]," he waved and entered his dressing room.
It didn't take until I sat down in my room by myself when the fact of the matters hit me. I was going to be on TV. Uwa~ I'm so nervous. There isn't a script, right? Even if there was I'd probably mess up even more! But I'll be on TV with KAT-TUN. What if I stutter? Plus, they usually have guests who are famous, I'm not famous at all. How are they going to lie thereselves out of this one?
"It's almost time," a staff member told me as he passed by.
"Hai," I answered nervously. It's almost time. A few moments later, the same staff member came in and told me to go to the studio on stand by. I did as I was told and went to the studio. "Uwa~" I said astonished as I walked in. The studio was bigger than I saw on TV. I walked onto the stage and sat down on the couches placed in the middle of everything. Then I looked and admired the dolphins behind the couches. Oh wait. I thought they changed the set to the room thingy. Why is the old set here? "How weird," I mummbled to myself.
"Wondering what happened to the new set?" someone asked from behind me.
"Eh?" I turned around to discover it was Kame who aske me the question.
"You're wondering why the old set is back, right?" he repeated.
"Ah, hai," I answered sort of confused. How'd he know?
"We're doing a special episode. The staff wanted to see what the reactions would be like if we used the old set. Maybe get higher ratings?" he said as he sat down on the couch.
"Sou ka [I see]," I answered. I was still looking at the dolphins and admiring their bright colors.
"Gomen, ne [I'm sorry]?" Kame suddenly apologized.
"Eh? Nani ga [About what]?" I asked looking at him.
"Kinou [Yesterday]," he explained.
"Kinou?" I thought about what he meant and then finally realized he might've been talking about the almost kiss from last night. "Ah. I-iie [It's-it's okay]," I said nervously.
"Ore no sei [It's my fault]," he continued.
"Eh?"
"It was too sudden, right?"
"Eh?"
"Kissu [The kiss]."
"Eh?!" I said confused.
"Oi, futari [Hey, you two]," Koki called from afar. "The shooting's about to start. Erika-chan, get in your position."
"H-hai," I answered nervously.
"Ikou [Let's go]," Kame said as he stood up.
"Hai." I walked to the little capsule looking thing where the guest stays with confusing thoughts in my mind. "Nan da sore [What was that]?"
"Go...yon...san...ni... [5...4...3...2..]," the director counted down. When he reached one he snapped his fingers and pointed at Kame to start.
"Hai, this week's Cartoon KAT-TUN is starting!" he announced cheerfully. The rest of the members were standing next to him looking the same. Even Jin. "You might be wondering why we're in the old set. Koki, explain to the viewers!"
"Hai!" Koki shouted. "Today is a special episode. Last week there was a raffle as to who would be the guest today. And the winner was one of you viewers!" he explained. So that's their lie.
"Taguchi, yoroshiku [Taguchi, it's all you]," Kame told him.
"Hi!" Taguchi greeted like always. "Today's guest is Hanashimi Erika-san. She was born in America, but her parents are Japanese. That mkes her Japanese-American! Let's see more of Erika-san." He neared the camera and said his famous line, "Check it out yo!" Then Koki kicked him. This brings back memories.
"Hai, today's guest is Hanashimi Erika-san!" Kame announced and the music for me to go down started.
I walked down the steps and bowed as I approached the group. Don't forget, make sure no one knows you're living with them. "Yoroshiku onegaishimasu," I greeted.
"Yoroshiku," everyone said.
"So Erika-san, you're a fan of KAT-TUN?" Kame asked like we've never met.
"Hai. Sou desu [That's right]," I answered nervously.
"So, who's you're favorite member?" Maru asked suddenly.
"My favorite member?"
"Hai. Don't hold back now," Koki told me.
"Well, I have three favorites," I honestly told them.
"Eh? Hontou? Dare [Really? Who]?" Taguchi asked.
"Etto..." I said nervously. I was too afraid to tell them. I mean, it'd be awkward after the show.
"Don't worry," Jin told me. How unexpected.
"No hard feelings?" I asked.
"None at all," Ueda said.
"Jaa...Yapari, Kamenashi-san, Nakamaru-san to Tanaka-san [Then...It'd have to be Kamenashi, Nakamaru, and Tanaka]," I answered honestly. And it was true. Those three were my favorite members. And then I realized when I said Kame's name my heart beated faster. What if he misunderstood?
"Oh, yatta!" Koki rejoiced.
"Yosh!" Maru exclaimed. The three of them gave each other a high five and then the show really started. We sat down on the couches. I was next to Kame and Maru. "Before the show you answered the 100 question survey, right?" Maru asked.
"Hai," I answered.
"Those questions will scroll on the screen right now. If a question grabs your attention then just touch it," he explained.
"Hai!" everyone else answered.
The beginning of the show was just the basic questions and stuff. Like where I was born and how old I was. Then the question of how I learned Japanese appeared. "Let's go with this one," Ueda said as he leaned forward to touch it.
"How did you learn Japanese?" Maru read. "I watched a lot of Japanese dramas and listened to the music. I just remembered the meaning of the words as hey came along," was my answer.
"Oh, so you just watched the dramas with the subtitles?" Ueda asked.
"Hai. I would just remember what the word meant and try to use it in my everyday life," I told them.
"Uwa~ Kore suge, ne [That's pretty cool, right]?" Taguchi jumped in.
"So you didn't really learn it formally?" Maru asked.
"Nope. I don't really like reading from textbooks and stuff. So watching the dramas was more fun," I answered.
Then the next questions came up. They were mostly about my part time jobs and stuff. And then the questions about who I'd like to be my relatives in KAT-TUN. Of course, they stopped it there. "Who do you want to be your boyfriend, husband, best friend, cousin, pet, and brother?" Maru read.
"Etto...for best friend you chose Ueda. For cousin it was Jin. For brother it was Nakamaru. For husband it was Koki. For pet it was Junno. And for boyfriend it was me," Kame read. Shimatta [Damn it]! Why'd I choose him for boyfriend? "Haha, Junno you're the pet again."
"Urese [Shut up]," Junno said playfully.
"So why did you want Koki as your husband?" Kame asked.
"Ah, etto...I sort feel like he would protect the kids and myself if there was trouble," I answered.
"Oohhh~" the other members playfully said. Koki just slapped his arm as a way to show his muscles.
"And why me as your boyfriend?" Kame asked curiously.
Yabe! I really did it this time! "Etto...I just sort felt that you were the kind of person who would plan things out throughly for a date or something like that. And would say sweet stuff that would cheer me up when I was having a bad day," I nervously told him.
"Ooohhh~" everyone said again. But the only one not doing it was Jin.
"That's new though. Most people choose Jin to be their boyfriend," Maru pointed out.
No way in hell would I want Mr. Rude as my boyfriend. It's too bad no one knows his true nature. "Urese," Jin told Maru seriously.
"Eh?" Maru said confused.
"You don't have to say pointless things like that."
"Eh~ Moshikashite [Could it be] you're jealous of Kame?" Junno asked playfully.
"Urese!" Jin shouted nervsouly.
"Eh? What's this? Are you blushing?" Ueda asked laughing.
"Urese!" he repeated.
"This part is totally going to get cut out," Kame mummbled to himself.
But why was Jin blushing? What a weird person.
